Relating to my <a href="http://www.pixelhum.com/archives/2005-05-26/windows-update-blues/">post in August</a> and <a href="http://binarybonsai.com">Michael's</a> <a href="http://binarybonsai.com/archives/2005/11/09/restart-windows/">recent post</a>, here is the registry fix in question. The fix prevents Windows Update from automatically restarting your machine if any users are logged in, thus preventing any data loss.
